Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a myeloproliferative disorder witch arises from genetic abnormalities in pluripotent hematopoietic stem cells. Inhibitors of apoptosis proteins (IAPs) over expression such as survivin and its anti-apoptotic variant, sur- ΔEx3, is the main cause of resistance to apoptotic effects of known drugs.
