Objective: A natural source of Hyaluronic Acid ( HA), rabbit vitreous humour (VH), was previously shown to promote wound repair in model animals. In search for its possible mechanisms, VH extract was tested on the cultured stem cells. Materials and Methods: Vitreous humour treatment of the cultured stem cells, RT-PCR, Flow cytometry analysis Results: The cellular and molecular markers (A2B5, Oct4, Sox2) changes showed that VH and possibly HA interferes with differentiating effect of Retinoic Acid. Conclusion: This reagent may affect cell proliferation and tissue regeneration by inhibition of cell differentiation.
